Anu Ramdas is an interdisciplinary artist in constant search of combining precision, simplicity and the open-ended character of her work. The juxtaposition of Indian and Danish cultural codes, tradition and language has influenced her and her way of seeing.

Ramdas use of mediation/non-mediation is aimed at staging confrontations challenging cultural expectations and conventions by returning the gaze of identity politics - globally and locally.

Alternating between the subtle and the confrontational, her work aims to embody a presence, a gaze or a state of mind. A third place, where alternative narratives appear.
